When we hear the other person’s feelings and needs,
we recognize our common humanity.

Private Mediation

Private Mediation is a process whereby a neutral, trained individual facilitates the parties in their resolution discussion, and conclusion or agreement. The mediator makes no decisions and has no authority to compel a resolution of the dispute. Mediation is highly successful when the parties are willing to settle their dispute, and because the value of resolving the dispute is often worth far more than the cost of prolonging it. Eileen will ask high quality questions and may offer suggestions to inspire creative possibilities that have not been previously considered.

  • Conflicts are part of life and arise naturally in all kinds of settings.
  • It is common and normal for partners to have conflicts or disagreements.
  • Managing conflict is one of the central tasks of maintaining a marriage, a family, or a team.
  • Studies have shown that ongoing conflict at home has a negative impact on mind/body/spirit health.
  • Ongoing conflict also has a direct negative impact on children, even more than does parental divorce.
  • Mediation can be a wise and prudent choice in eliminating destructive patterns or habits.

Private sessions are conducted in a neutral, private setting and require a minimum of three hours. It is important for the mediation process to proceed with momentum towards a settlement, therefore parties are requested to set aside a day for the session.

A deposit of $200 is required before scheduling. The remainder will be due at the conclusion of the session, based on an hourly rate of $125. Click here to contact Eileen to schedule a session.

Eileen received her mediator certification in 1996 through Eden Area Mediation Services of California in accordance with the California Dispute Resolution Act. Married for over 25 years with two adult daughters, Eileen is grateful for the "living workshop" her marriage and family continues to provide with respect to compassionate communication and creative conflict resolution.
