Communion is the purpose of communication.
~ Charlotte Kasl, PhD

Also referred to as Compassionate Communication, Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is essentially, communicating from the heart. It is a simple and powerful method for improving the quality of all relationships—with our partners, family members, co-workers, neighbors—everyone we interact with. NVC allows one to develop and enjoy deeper connections with others while eliminating ancient patterns of blame, insults, put-downs, labels, criticism, comparisons, and all forms of judgment. In a safe and supportive environment, participants will learn and practice the four components of the NVC process, and leave with a newly embodied confidence and consciousness for relating compassionately with others.
All discord is the result of unmet needs. ~ Dalai Lama
Inspired by Native American traditions, the practice of council can be conducted in a variety of settings and situations. Whether carried out by couples, families, schools, workgroups, or world leaders, council is a ceremonial practice for bringing individuals together for authentic, heart-centered expression. The practice of council is honored as sacred time and space, and is a compelling process for resolving conflict, making decisions, offering feedback/reflection, visioning, and dreamsharing. Embracing the way of council can foster greater personal honesty, patience, trust, flexibility, compassion, intimacy, creativity, respect, and leadership. In a safe and supportive environment, participants will learn and practice the four basic intentions of council; forms of council; confidentiality and honoring the integrity of the circle; and council leadership.
Where I sit is holy
Holy is the ground
Forest, mountain, river
Listen to the sound
Great spirit circle
All around me.
